Disgraced Urologist Darius Paduch Convicted & Guilty of Sexual Abuse of Patients Including Minors

Dr. Darius Paduch, a disgraced Manhattan urologist, was convicted on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, for sexually assaulting patients, including five minor boys, under the guise of medical treatment. The verdict, delivered unanimously by a Manhattan Federal Court Jury, found Paduch guilty on all 11 counts related to his sexual abuse of five minors and 2 adults, as confirmed by the Manhattan US Attorney’s Office.

Formerly associated with NewYork-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center and Northwell Health, Paduch committed these heinous acts between 2006 and 2023 while alone with his patients in the examination room, according to prosecutors.

At The DiPietro Law Firm, we believe that the abuse started as early as 2003 based on the stories of numerous victims that came forward. Paduch’s subsequent resignation at Weill Cornell followed numerous complaints. Yet, Weill Cornell accepted his resignation without reporting him to the authorities, allowing him to continue his predatory behavior unchecked at Northwell.

“He found employment at Northwell due to Weill Cornell’s failure to fulfill their obligation to report him to the authorities,” Attorney Anthony T. DiPietro asserted.

Weill Cornell has implemented changes to policies and training requirements and introduced new patient safety programs ”to prevent the risk of such abhorrent conduct occurring in the future,” stated a representative in response to Wednesday’s conviction.

In contrast, Northwell said, “We have been deeply disturbed by the information that has been revealed throughout the course of the criminal proceedings against Dr. Paduch.”

The verdict sends a clear message that such behavior will not be tolerated, and justice will be pursued on behalf of the victims.

We at the DiPietro Law Firm believe that the fight is not over. The institutions who hired him are answerable to all the victims who came forward and hundreds of others who have yet to raise their hands. We are determined to hold Weill Cornell, New York Presbyterian Hospital, and Northwell accountable for this fraud & cover-up.
