After working with some of the top advocates for patients' rights in the State of New York, Mr. DiPietro founded his own law practice in January of 2003 to continue the fight on behalf of those injured by medical malpractice. The one thing that we have always found to be the most rewarding about our work is the privilege to represent the public at large, and to bring about improvements in patient care.
The laws of this Country were set up to ensure that every citizen has the right to have disputes resolved fairly, consistently, and by an impartial jury. We believe this is an extremely important right. However, access to the courthouse should not be limited to only those who already have a tremendous amount of money or those who have the most political connections.
Access to the Courthouse is Fundamental Right of us all. We are committed to the belief that the safer we can make something for any individual, the safer we are making it for everyone.
Our forefathers have long since realized that in a free and fair society, access to legal representation must be available to all citizens. That is why the law allows us to take cases on what is called a contingency basis. What that means, is that we are allowed to represent our clients regardless of whether or not the they have the money to pay for our representation up front. We cannot guarantee that we will win every case, nor are we required to take every case that comes to us. The law permitting us to represent our clients on a contingency basis allows us to take cases that we believe in, free of up front charges, and then recover a set percentage of the verdict at the end of the case.
By allowing us to represent our clients in this way, we are able to provide representation to all people with a meritorious case regardless of their socioeconomic status. We believe that equal access to the courthouse regardless of race, ethnicity, social status or wealth, is important because it keeps our society amongst the best and safest in the world today. We are proud and honored to represent every client we have because we know that justice for one client will create safer medical practices for so many others who follow.
